Obituary for Janet Zeller

July 30, 1953 - August 18, 2021
Indianapolis, Indiana | Age 68

Janet Zeller, 68, of Indianapolis, IN passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters on August 18, 2021. Janet was born on July 30, 1953, in Brooklyn, NY to Sylvia Zeller. Janet was a carpenter by trade and a passionate woman who will be greatly missed by all.
Janet was someone who loved with her whole heart. She put her love into everything she did. From building furniture to creating her own business, she always worked hard and never complained. She was very passionate about her children and grandchildren and loved them fiercely. A true Leo, she always spoke her mind and was extremely generous and caring to everyone she met. Her creativity was obvious to anyone who met her. Janet could see beauty and art in anything and everything. Her talents were beyond measure and she could play music by ear such as the piano. She was loved by anyone who knew her and was known as a strong, independent, and very funny woman who always wanted to make you laugh. She had words of wisdom and many stories that she shared (always in her Brooklyn accent). Our mom will always be remembered, because she is someone who is hard to forget and always stayed in your heart.
A few of Janet's words of wisdom:
"Always be nice to others, because you never know what they are going through."
"Be kind, loving always."
"Suck it up"
"End of subject"
And to the four of us, she always said: "Be there for each other." "Mommy loves you."
Janet will be dearly missed by her daughters, Gina Willis, Lana (Joey) Bellantoni, Tara (Glenn) Downen, and Jana Martin; her grandchildren, Brodrick Willis, Christopher Willis, Anthony Garcia, Alyssa Garcia, Cole Tyler, Elizabeth Bellantoni, Kenneth Willits, Clayton Willits, Kyle Joyce, and Jordan Martin; her sisters, Adrienne (Connie) DeRoss, Didi (Walter) Baron, and Elise Ouellette (her twin sister).
She was preceded in death by her mom and two brothers, Alan Zeller and Frank DeRoss.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held with her immediate family. Services have been entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care. Memorial contributions in her name may be donated to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
