Obituary for Beverly Rose Zigler

August 2, 1933 - June 6, 2021
Avon, Indiana | Age 87

Beverly Rose Zigler, 87, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, in Avon, Indiana. Beverly was born to the late Ira and Mary (Price) Batts in Indianapolis, Indiana.
On June 4, 1955, Beverly married the love of her life, Kenneth Elda Zigler. Beverly and Kenny enjoyed traveling and making unforgettable memories with their close friends, Jim and Pat Strange. Beverly and Pat formed a friendship in 1941, as time elapsed and each married, their husbands became best friends also. The four friends would visit haunted bridges, take short trips, Lake Schafer, and of course later in years going to church campground. Beverly loved knitting and spending time with her family. Before Lisa Jane arrived in 1965, Kenny and Beverly spent many weekends and days with their nieces and nephews, whom they adored dearly like their own children. Once Lisa was born, much of her time was spent tending to her small family of three and taking care of her parents and in-laws, her garden and flowers, and spending time with her sisters and other family members. She loved her family members and was excited when nieces and nephews started having children of their own, it just made the family bigger. We cannot forget her most cherished hobby of playing her Wurlitzer Organ. Beverly was a member of West Morris Street Free Methodist Church where she started attending as a baby. She was considered a shelf baby because her mother was one of the original members when West Morris Street Free Methodist Church was founded at a local grocery store. Shelf babies were placed in their baskets on the grocery shelves while their mothers attended service. Church and her family were her life.
Beverly is preceded in death by her loving husband, Kenneth E. Zigler, her parents Ira and Mary Batts, siblings, Irma Laux, Lucille Angrick, two nieces, Cheryl Moore and Michelle "Shelly Button" Batts and one great nephew, Brian Brummett, one special sister-in-law, Linda Batts.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Lisa Zigler, granddaughter, Danielle Nicole Voiles, 13 nieces and nephews, including their children, and their children's children. She is also survived by her brother, Kenneth Harold Batts.
On the Zigler side of the family, she is preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Elda Zigler and Ivy Edell Zigler, and brother-in-law, Marshall Zigler. On this side of the family she is survived by her brother in law, James Zigler, wife, Mary Lou Zigler and family, Robert Zigler, wife Jennifer Zigler, and family. Sister-in-law, Donna Jensen and her family, Donna was like a sister and more to Beverly.
